A trifle, a trifle, another god damn trifle

January 24, 2009

Now I’m a big fan of food, but haven’t trifles gone far enough. I was watching episode 8 of Top Chef Season 5, and I couldn’t believe that they decided to use a trifle. I know that the concept of layering cream, pastry, and berries is fairly classic, but that’s not anything new because you added Grand Marnier. That’s like taking an creme puff to France and saying you’re doing a cultural specialty because it’s basically a circular eclair without the chocolate glaze. You’re not going to see a win with trifle, and anyone thinking that should already be gone.

Sorry for the delay,  it’s been an extremely busy day, and thanks to Dell’s wonderful products and service, I am without a laptop again.  Once again, never buy a dell.   Tonight, however, is not about Dell.  Rather tonight is about fulfilling the promise I’ve made so many times before and actually blogging about Top Chef.

Let’s Give It Up For the New Year

January 2, 2009

I’ve been thinking a lot about the blog, and what features I could add.  Aside from finding my own hosting, I decided features, preferably ones that take less time to pull off than Trailers, Trailers, Trailers, which might be getting scrapped since I can’t find any reason to devote 4 to 6 hours into researching all these movies for low readership [or unresponsive readers].  As I’ve previously mentioned, WordPress claims ownership over content, so I’d prefer to keep fiction out.  So what am I thinking?

Gobble Gobble

November 27, 2008

It turns out that drifting was actually a fairly good plan. No less than a day later and Eliza has gotten back together with her boyfriend. I’m not going to speculate too much not knowing the cause of the break up, but distance in relationships always causes difficulties. All, as it turns out, was much ado about nothing, I am merely left slightly disappointed for no apparent reason. A good dose of Top Chef later and I’m ready to forget.
